CONTROLLER - ACCOUNTING and BUDGETING, Fairfield County

Our client, a leading provider of transportation services, has a great position in Accounting and offers a top compensation package.

Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Controller will manage all aspects of Accounting and Finance, including but not limited to:

• Monthly and Annual Financial Statement Preparation
• Budgeting
• Accounts Payable
• Receivables
• Interface with the Companies outside auditors and management of the Accounting Department
• Financial Statement preparation
• Accounts Payable, Receivables
• Interface with outside Accounting firms.
• Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget and prior periods.
• Oversee daily operations of the Accounting Department.
• Perform accounting research on technical accounting matters.
• Responsible for the company's accounting operations, training and mentoring staff; maintaining financial records, management reporting and preparing statutory financial reports and filings.
• Supervise general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and internal controls.
• Oversee Finance department compliance with policies and procedures, monthly account reconciliations, revenue recognition, project accounting and adherence to GAAP.
• Compensation $125,000+ /yr and bonus depending on experience.

Requirements:

• 10 years of experience. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or a related degree is required.
• CPA is required
• Tax experience a plus.
• Strong knowledge of accounting theory and practice is required.
• Previous management experience.
• Transportation Industry experience a plus.
• Candidate must be able to work for any employer in U.S
