Responsibilities:

• Prepare / enhance monthly financial reporting package.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of monthly and quarterly financial information to Senior management, expense analysts and corporate finance.
• Monitor expenses by category and any unusual items.
• metrics and leading indicators to assist in the identification of potential expense issues.
• Review reports for major variances and obtain variance explanations from functional areas.
• Analyze monthly expenses and staffing for departments, assist expense analysts in expense research as needed.
• Develop process to collect and maintain allocations in the Hyperion applications.
• Prepare and post monthly expense (allocates to segments & products) to the General ledger
• Balance final expense system data with the G/L balances and reconcile various other applications / systems; FOCUS, Hyperion GBD application Corporate application.
• Identify and implement any process improvements for operational efficiencies.
• Maintain current lists of Expense hierarchies and ensure they are in sync with Hyperion and Oracle tables in FOCUS.
• Create and edit Hyperion report and designs and other enhancements as needed to improve expense reporting
• Improve accessibility of information available to expense analysts through enhanced use of Essbase and other software.
• Compensation: $65,000 to $95,000 /year + bonus.

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 2 years experience in insurance industry or financial analysis in manufacturing.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to influence decision making and create partnerships throughout the business.
• 2-3 years Expense reporting / analysis experience
• Strong understanding of financial services business
• Ability to take the initiative and creatively solve problems
• GAAP / STAT reporting a plus.
• Experience in the following areas a plus:
  • Hyperion Essbase, Analyzer, Reports a plus
  • FOCUS
  • Peoplesoft General Ledger
• Must be able to work for any employer in the U.S.
